About the Role

While responsibilities will vary depending on each family’s needs, typical duties include:

- Providing attentive, safe, and nurturing care for children of various ages
- Planning age-appropriate activities to support learning and development
- Preparing meals and snacks as required
- Ensuring a clean, safe, and stimulating environment
- Supporting routines such as naps, school runs, and bedtime
- Maintaining open and professional communication with parents

Requirements

To be eligible for our directory, applicants should ideally have:


  • Previous experience working with children (1 year minimum preferred)

  • A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

  • OFSTED Registered if caring for children under the age of 8 years old and for more than 2 hours a day, provide childcare in your own home (or someone elses and not the child's home)

  • Paediatric First Aid certification (or commitment to complete one)

  • Relevant childcare qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • A warm, patient, and professional approach

  • Two verifiable references


Skills

  • Experience in childcare, childminding nannying is essential

  • Ability to drive safely and confidently with a valid driving licence

  • Strong teaching skills to support educational activities and developmental milestones (For Childminders)

  • Fluency in English is essential

  • Excellent organisational skills to manage daily routines efficiently

  • Compassionate, patient, and attentive nature with a genuine love for working with children

  • Good communication

  • Ability to care for more than one child lone working
